IS YOUR FRUIT TASTEY?

I seem to be coming back to this subject all the time! STOP WORKING AND START ABIDING. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit; for apart from Me, you can do nothing." John 15:5. In our zeal to produce "results" for our Lord, we sometimes become so intent on fruit production that we neglect abiding in Christ.

Do you feel that you need to labor constantly to keep up with God's high standards? Our relationship with Him is fairly simple.....ABIDE (be vitally united and connected to the vine) in Him, He will abide in you....and then you will bear much fruit. If you separate yourself from Him you will not produce Godly fruit. Bearing fruit of the flesh is not pretty, tasty or helpful to anyone. Bearing no fruit is not good either.....it's a sign you are not abiding. Remember the fig tree that did not bear fruit: Jesus cursed it and it died.

Staying connected with our creator is simple....yet time consuming. How can you know someone without spending time with them? Have you noticed that when you spend time around energizing people, you, too, become more energized? How about when you spend time around kind and giving people? Doesn't that stimulate you to give more, be kinder? What if you spend time around depressed, negative people? What about trash talking tale bearing people? Whoever you spend your time with is who you will resemble. Whatever you spend most of your time doing.......you will become.

So, simply, when we spend time with our gentle, loving Creator, we become more like Him and we bear fruit that resembles Him as well: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

How's your fruit looking and tasting?
